Introducing the Supraclavicular Nerves Selective Block on the NYSORA Nerve Blocks App
This advanced technique offers targeted analgesia for shoulder surgeries, clavicle operations, and upper anterior thoracic wall procedures, enhancing the effectiveness of brachial plexus and interpectoral plane blocks.
Technique overview
The supraclavicular nerves selective block is performed at the base of the posterior triangle of the neck, cranial to the clavicle. This technique is indicated for open shoulder surgery (in combination with a brachial plexus block), clavicle surgery, and procedures on the upper anterior thoracic wall, such as the placement of implantable electronic devices or long-term catheters, often in combination with an interpectoral plane block.
