Inside NYSORA Workshops

Why NYSORA Workshops Are Different

NYSORA workshops combine anatomy, ultrasound, procedural planning, and hands-on practice in one structured learning format.

Anatomy Before Needle Placement

Review the anatomical relationships behind each technique using 3D anatomy, clinical ultrasound, illustrations, and Reverse Ultrasound Anatomy™.

Intensive Hands-On
Practice

Spend dedicated time scanning live models and practicing needle guidance on simulators rather than observing demonstrations only.

Direct Faculty Feedback

Receive immediate feedback on probe position, image optimization, anatomy recognition, needle alignment, and procedural planning.

NYSORA Academy
Learning Spaces

Many workshops take place in custom-built NYSORA Academy facilities designed specifically for regional anesthesia training.

Why Attend a NYSORA
Workshop?

Watching a procedure does not show you whether your own probe position, image, needle alignment, and procedural plan are correct.

Sessions focus on questions such as:

  • Can you consistently produce the required ultrasound view?
  • Can you identify the target and the structures that must be avoided?
  • Is the probe positioned correctly for the intended needle path?
  • Can you maintain needle-tip visibility during advancement?
  • Do you know how to adjust when the anatomy or image is unclear?

What You Will Take Back to Practice:

  • A repeatable scanning sequence
  • Better recognition of relevant sonoanatomy
  • More deliberate probe positioning
  • A clearer needle path before insertion
  • Practical methods for improving needle visibility
  • A structured approach to technique selection
  • Specific corrections from faculty based on your scanning and needling
  • Resources for reviewing the techniques after the workshop

Training That Goes Beyond the Workshop

The NYSORA Workshop Learning Journey

Prepare before the workshop, practice under faculty supervision, and continue reviewing the techniques afterward.

01

Before the Workshop

Prepare Before You Arrive

Receive access to workshop-specific NYSORA resources before the course.

Included access (workshop-specific):

Outcome: Arrive familiar with the anatomy, indications, and basic procedural sequence.

02

During the Workshop

Practice With Direct Faculty Feedback

Spend the workshop applying the techniques through supervised, hands-on stations.

  • Live model ultrasound scanning
  • Probe position and image optimization
  • Sonoanatomy and landmark recognition
  • Needle alignment and tip visibility
  • Simulator-based needling
  • Procedure selection and troubleshooting

Master NYSORA's 1-2-3 approach to:

  • Probe positioning
  • Sonoanatomy and landmark recognition
  • Needle guidance and injection strategy

Outcome: Leave with a repeatable approach you can use in your next clinical case.

03

After the Workshop

Continue Reviewing With NYSORA360

In addition to 3 months of access to the relevant NYSORA apps, participants receive continued access to workshop presentations and course materials through NYSORA360.

Revisit selected workshop presentations, anatomy, and procedural resources after the course.

Use the materials to:

  • Review difficult techniques
  • Reinforce faculty corrections
  • Prepare before a clinical case
  • Continue structured learning
Visit NYSORA360

It brings together:

• 3D anatomy

• Live ultrasound

• Probe position and scanning technique

• Needle trajectory

• Animated local-anesthetic spread

• Clinical indications and procedural decisions

By showing these elements together, QUADRA™ helps trainees and practicing clinicians connect anatomy with the ultrasound image and the procedural plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our workshop programs.

NYSORA Workshops are small-group, hands-on training programs focused on ultrasound-guided techniques in regional anesthesia, pain procedures, and POCUS. This section also includes Boot Camps, which are immersive clinical observation experiences in a real hospital setting.

Workshops combine brief teaching with extensive hands-on practice using ultrasound machines, live models, and simulators.

NYSORA workshops are highly practical. While short lectures provide clinical context, most of the program is dedicated to hands-on scanning, supervised practice, and real-time feedback from faculty.

Depending on the course, topics may include:

  • Ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia and nerve blocks
  • Ultrasound-guided pain interventions (acute and chronic pain)
  • POCUS scanning and clinical interpretation
  • Needle visualization, sonoanatomy, and standardized step-by-step approaches

Each workshop page lists the exact procedures and learning objectives.

Workshops are intentionally kept small to maximize ultrasound time and instructor interaction.

Exact group size is shown on each event page.

Workshops are led by experienced clinicians and educators with deep expertise in regional anesthesia, pain medicine, and ultrasound-guided techniques.

Faculty composition varies by course and is listed on each workshop page.

No formal prerequisites are required for most workshops. Courses support a range of skill levels—from trainees building fundamentals to experienced clinicians refining ultrasound-guided techniques.

Any course-specific requirements are listed on the event page.

Inclusions vary by event, but typically include:

  • Access to the full educational program
  • Use of ultrasound equipment, models, and training materials (for workshops)
  • Course resources and supporting materials
  • Lunch and breaks (when specified)
  • In some cases, access to digital learning tools such as NYSORA 360 or a relevant manual/app subscription

Travel and accommodation are generally not included. Where available, event pages provide guidance on nearby hotels and transportation.

You typically do not need to bring special equipment—ultrasound machines and training materials are provided.

Bring comfortable attire, a notebook, and optionally a tablet or laptop for accessing digital resources.

Cancellations must be submitted in writing to [email protected].

  • More than 30 days before the event: 50% refund
  • Within 30 days of the event: no refund

Rescheduling may be possible depending on availability but is not guaranteed. Always review the specific event page for the most accurate policy.
